ActionPPE is an independent publication. Its publisher is the publication itself: articles are researched, written, and reviewed in-house and carry no bylines, because the sourcing — named standards, dated captures, primary documents — is the authority on every page.

What operated here before

From 2020 to 2021, a group-purchasing program for personal protective equipment operated at this web address, connecting U.S. medical societies and their member practices with bulk PPE during the shortage. That program ended in 2021, and this publication's account of it is written from dated archive captures and cited coverage. Between 2024 and 2025 the lapsed domain carried unrelated auto-generated spam; the Record documents that era only to date it.

What this site is

The publication has two wings.

The Record preserves the account of how U.S. medical societies and ad-hoc programs got PPE to independent practices in 2020–21: what the programs offered, on what dates, and where they went. Every claim is grounded in dated archive captures or contemporaneous published coverage, cited on the page.

The Reference is a practical PPE reference for small healthcare practices: respirator classes, NIOSH approval and how to verify it, OSHA's respiratory protection requirements, fit testing, shelf life, and stock planning. Articles cite the governing standards by name — 42 CFR Part 84, 29 CFR 1910.134, FDA device regulations — and state plainly where guidance is settled and where it is in flux.
